Rules of the Ride
Ensure you are
physically fit and capable of completing your ride
Ensure your motorcycle
is roadworthy, taxed and MOT'd, that you have a minimum of third
party liability insurance in place and you have a valid driving
licence to ride the motorcycle
Follow instructions from
the Marshalls and the Police, as directed
No speeding or dangerous
riding, enjoy the run and show respect for other road users at all
times
Keep at least a 2 second
gap between the next rider and yourself. Try to adopt an
'offset' style to improve your forward vision and increase your
braking distance. Increase the 2 second rule if road or
weather conditions dictate
If you break down, get
your bike into the side of the road and stay on the footpath or
verge. Telephone the recovery truck, if possible
In the case of accidents
or suspected injuries, PHONE 999 IMMEDIATELY
Be aware of sheep, mud
on the road, slippery surfaces, leaves, high winds etc
Ensure you have enough
fuel to complete each section between fuel stops
Keep in single file and
NO OVERTAKING
Make your own way back
at your own speed from the destination
